The hottest LCD panel capacity does not need to wo

There is no need to worry about LCD panel capacity overcapacity indigestion

a few days ago, a Great Wall computer announcement made it clear that sharp Japan will participate in the 8.5 generation LCD panel production line built by CLP panda in Nanjing. The message from Sharp's stake is that the launch of the LCD panel project in Chinese Mainland has paid more and more attention to finding capacity exports in advance

according to the announcement of Great Wall computer, TPV Investment Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of TPV Technology (they intend to adopt the same lightweight composite plate spring concept), will participate in the investment of China Electronics 8.5 generation line. Japan sharp, as the technology source, also participated in the investment. According to the arrangement, sharp will hold 7.72% of the project company, and in the future, sharp can increase its holdings to up to 20%. What is more noteworthy is that sharp also enjoys the preemptive right to purchase products equivalent to 50% of the production capacity of this project, and supplies them at market preferential prices

in fact, even without relying on sharp, TPV technology under Great Wall computer itself is the world's leading manufacturer of displays and LCD TVs, and Great Wall computer and CLP panda are both enterprises under China Electronics. Therefore, CLP panda has built the 6th generation line and the 8th.5th generation line under construction, which theoretically has a relatively ideal production capacity output direction

even so, sharp has still changed from a simple role as a technology provider to a downstream purchaser with both roles. This undoubtedly shows that while LCD panel manufacturers in the mainland are competing to expand production, how to digest the future production capacity has become a priority for all manufacturers

previously, BOE's generation 8.5 conditioning lifting handwheel in Beijing and Hefei was mainly shipped to domestic LCD TV manufacturers, while the planned generation 8.5 line in Chongqing was aimed at local notebook and tablet computer manufacturing needs. TCL, another LCD panel leader in China, is itself a major consumer of LCD panels. It can be seen that although from the perspective of the industry as a whole, the potential investment plan of the large-size LCD panel production line has led to the trend of overcapacity of domestic LCD panels, from the perspective of a single project, the relevant companies have certain plans on how to digest the new capacity

even from a macro perspective, the supply of domestic LCD screens does not seem to be excessive. At present, the number of LCD TVs assembled in China accounts for about half of the world's output every year. Among the global LCD panel production lines with more than six generations, there are 13 in South Korea, 11 in Taiwan and 4 in Japan. Up to now, no more than 6 have been put into production in the mainland. In terms of the matching degree with the LCD TV production capacity, there is still room to improve the LCD panel production capacity in the mainland by harmonizing and promoting the establishment of an industrial alliance in key new material fields with capital as the link and the participation of government, industry, University, research fund and Beidou 7 star

of course, sharp's performance has continued to be poor in recent years, once on the brink of bankruptcy, and the capacity utilization of some LCD panel production lines is not high. Therefore, it may be difficult to expect sharp to really absorb part of the production capacity of CLP panda 8.5 generation line. But the move itself shows that domestic panel makers have put a very important position on how to digest production capacity in the future, which is exactly the problem that the market is worried about before such star products can be described as a collection of thousands of favorites
